Wednesday November 5th
- Arrival day – travel (good connections from Bristol, Cardiff, LHR airports) to Cardiff Central Station where we will collect and transfer you to the Parc Thistle Hotel (Cardiff City Centre, 6-7 minutes walk from the Atrium). Registration & information pack on arrival.

Thursday November 6th (Atrium, USW)
- Mandy Rose (Digital Cultures Research Centre): Brave New Doc World. The market is changing, the places where documentary is seen are changing, the way documentaries are made is changing. Which profession are we teaching? For which markets and jobs? How can we prepare our students for the next ten years?
- Paul Pauwels (European Documentary Network): Documentary Production in crisis? Developments in Public Service Broadcasting & Creative Europe – reasons for despair or optimism?
- Mark Atkin (Crossover Labs): New forms of documentary.Examining the user journey: how to teach transmedia?
- Afternoon breakout sessions in small groups with speakers
- Open Forum: Grierson’s Film School Manifesto: It’s all about Story & Ideas
- Evening dinner / drinks
Friday November 6th (Atrium, USW)
- Charlie Phillips (Sheffield Doc Festival): New methods of finance & distribution. Can we – should we – teach crowd-sourcing & crowd-funding, or leave these to the students?
